The Wolverhampton Summer Festival of Beer & Cider, aka the 47th Wolverhampton Beer Festival, was a huge success over the weekend, with all ale, cider and perry selling out by Saturday evening in what was probably our busiest festival across the three days since the venue change to the Newhampton Art Centre in 2016.
Customers enjoyed supping beers from both local and national breweries and cider and perry from around the country – and one from as far away as north France. The weather and some excellent entertainment from Bansal Electrics, the Barley Beats, the Ukeing Wolves and The Other Half ensured that revelers had the best of times over the course of the weekend. Our festival tombola was also a sell out, all gone by late Saturday afternoon with money raised for Wings & Paws Animal Rescue.
We must extend a huge thank you to all volunteers from our branch, local CAMRA branches and of course those of you who travelled and stayed in the area to work at the festival. Without you, there would be no festival, so please accept our heartfelt thanks, hopefully you’ll agree that it was worth the work and effort to see people having such a good time!
Our thoughts now turn to branch campaigning and socials – the first of which comes this Saturday 3rd August as we visit Pennfields Bowling Club to present them with their Wolverhampton CAMRA Club of the Year Runner up award, a first for the club.
Why not join us? We’re there from 1pm at Pennfields Bowling & Social Club, 60 Coalway Rd, Wolverhampton WV3 7LZ.
