Wolverhampton & Dudley CAMRA Unite for Major 2026 Regional Mild Trail
Wolverhampton and Dudley & South Staffordshire CAMRA have joined forces to organise the 2026 West Midlands CAMRA Regional Mild in May Trail — and this year’s event promises to be something special with Dudley & South Staffordshire CAMRA’s John Corser and Wolverhampton CAMRA’s Neil Hodgkiss working with pubs on the route to ensure the trail goes off with a bang!
Taking place on Saturday 9th May 2026, the regional spotlight falls firmly on the Black Country as the two neighbouring branches collaborate for a large-scale celebration of traditional mild ale. The event also marks a significant milestone year, with both Wolverhampton CAMRA and Dudley & South Staffordshire CAMRA celebrating their 50th anniversaries during 2026.
The trail will showcase pubs across Dudley, Gornal, Sedgley, Wolverhampton and Tettenhall, highlighting one of Britain’s most historic beer styles in an area long regarded as a stronghold for dark mild.

All Aboard the No. 1!
The trail is built around the frequent National Express West Midlands No. 1 bus route, which links Dudley and Tettenhall Wood via Sedgley and Wolverhampton. This allows attendees to comfortably explore the route without the need for a designated driver, while also making the event highly accessible for visitors arriving by rail, Metro or bus connections.
Participating venues will feature a mixture of permanent milds and specially sourced guest milds, including beers from breweries closely associated with the Black Country’s brewing heritage such as Batham’s, Holden’s and Sarah Hughes.
Among the pubs taking part are the the Stripey Oss microbar, the Britannia, Beacon Hotel, Bulls Head, Swan Inn, Great Western, Combermere Arms, Royal Oak, Chindit, Lych Gate Tavern and many more across the route.
Visitors are encouraged to plan their route in advance and download the official Mild Trail map PDF for full venue and transport details. Details are also appearing in the May 2026 Issue 43 edition of BEERWOLF magazine.
With two CAMRA branches celebrating 50 years, a region famed for its love of mild, and an easy hop-on-hop-off bus route connecting the pubs, the 2026 Regional Mild Trail is shaping up to be one of the biggest Mild in May celebrations the area has seen in years.
